I have been accused of being the “Snow Grinch,” always reluctant to call a delay or a snow closing. I happen to believe that we live in New England and should be able to deal with a little white stuff every now and then. However, the main reason I am always loath to close school is that, at least on our campus, we are almost always ready to open thanks to the most amazing team of dedicated men and women in the Facilities Department.
Today’s Headlines video caught our facilities team getting the campus ready late at night so that we would be ready to safely welcome the children the next day. Moreover, this video is a tribute to the culture that is GCDS. We love and celebrate all aspects of our school. From the people who serve our lunch every day, to our faculty and staff, to the men and women who mow the lawns, everyone is a true believer in Country Day, and it is this “can do” attitude that permeates all aspects of our school.
Even if you happen to be a huge fan of the snow day, take a moment to thank our facilities team for all they do and for every day in every way making our campus one of the most beautiful places in Greenwich.
