So much good comes from playing games. Pick-up basketball, a good game of Hearts, or a marathon Monopoly game—nothing is better at bringing people together and nothing is better for helping healthy children grow and thrive. And then there is chess. We added chess to the Lower School curriculum many years ago, and we continue to support our chess program because we know how significantly this particular game helps stimulate brain development. Strategy, thinking ahead, understanding complexities, and always showing good sportsmanship are involved in every game whether at the Grandmaster level or in the GCDS kindergarten. We hope you enjoy this short video highlighting the GCDS chess program.
