I am not sure who was more excited yesterday morning––the third graders ready to debut The Wizard of Oz or the ninth graders who sprinted across campus to get the best seats in the house? As those ninth graders walked into Molinari Hall, the memories from six years earlier came flooding back. They remembered the songs and even their lines from when they put on this same show with Miss Wittrock.
I love this tradition of reprising the same six shows so that the graduating class shares a common bond with the children "graduating" from the Lower School. When I called the ninth grade on stage at the end of the performance to sing with the third grade, it was one of those GCDS "pinch me" moments.
I hope you enjoy this video and can feel the special spirit we all felt just a few hours ago.
